Naxalbari, 13th December: A youth was injured in an elephant attack in Madanjote area under Hathighisa in Naxalbari. The injured youth has been identified as Chumanus Oraon (28).
Reportedly, on Tuesday morning an elephant was breaking into the house by entering the area. As soon as Chumanus Oraon came out of the house after hearing the sound he was attacked by the elephant. Due to this, he injured his hand, leg and chest. After the incident, the injured youth was rescued and taken to the Naxalbari hospital.
On the other hand, as soon as the information about the incident was received, the chairman of Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad, Arun Ghosh reached the hospital to visit the injured youth. In this regard, Arun Ghosh assured that he and the Forest Department will take care of all the medical needs.
