Siliguri, 22nd December: A youth has been arrested by the Bhakti Nagar police station of Siliguri Metropolitan Police on charges of kidnapping a 13-year-old minor. The arrested youth has been identified as Basant Pandey.
Reportedly, the 13-year-old minor living in Ward No. 40 was abducted on Wednesday. After which a written complaint was lodged at the police station on behalf of the family. Acting on the basis of the complaint, the police recovered the abducted minor within 12 hours of the kidnapping.
However on the other hand, Basant Pandey was arrested from Chhota Phapri area on the charges of kidnapping a minor. The recovered minor has been sent for medical examination, whereas the arrested accused Basant Pandey has been produced in the Jalpaiguri court.
