Naxalbari, 26th August: Naxalbari Babupara Sporting Club conducted the ‘Khutti Puja’ for its upcoming Durga Puja celebrations on Wednesday, marking the beginning of preparations for the Sharadiya Durgotsav.
This year, the club is organising its 67th Durga Puja with a theme inspired by the architecture of Buddhist temples in Thailand. The pandal will feature a specially designed setup along with elaborate lighting arrangements and an idol inspired by Buddha.
The Durga Puja preparations officially began with the ‘Khutti Puja’ ceremony. Club members and local social workers were present at the programme.
Puja committee secretary Bulan Ghosh said the club is organising a big-budget Durga Puja this year and expects a large turnout of visitors.
