Youth accused of beating two senior citizens in Siliguri

Siliguri, 22nd June: A youth identified as Suraj Sahani has been accused of physically assaulting two senior citizens amid a scuffle in his locality in Bhakti Nagar. 
According to the information, on Tuesday night, Suraj Sahani got into an argument with his neighbour Prasenjit Saha, a toto (e-rickshaw) driver, for parking the toto in front of his residence. 
As the argument escalated, Prasenjit’s mother and another old woman stepped forward to save him. However, Suraj Sahani continued to thrash Prasenjit and the two elderlies. Furthermore, he threatened to kill them.
After the incident, on Wednesday, Prasenjit Saha lodged a written complaint at the NJP police station. Based on the complaint, the police reached the area to arrest Suraj, however, could not do so as he has been absconding since the incident. Prasenjit Saha and his family have requested strict punishment against the accused.
