Rajganj, 22nd August: A nearly 7-foot-long python was rescued while crossing a road in the Jaldumurdanga Para area near Sahudangi in Rajganj on Saturday, triggering concern among local residents.
According to information, some residents first spotted the python while it was crossing the road. As news of the sighting spread, a large number of people gathered at the spot.
Residents claimed that the python was around 7 feet long and said they had never seen such a large python in the area before. The sighting caused concern among locals.
The matter was subsequently reported to the Dabgram Range. Forest Department personnel reached the spot and safely rescued the python.
According to the Forest Department, the python will later be released into a suitable forest habitat.
