Siliguri, 22nd August: A fire broke out at an eatery in the Baghajatin Park area of Siliguri on Saturday afternoon, triggering panic in the locality. The fire reportedly spread quickly inside the eatery, prompting employees and customers to rush outside. No casualties were reported in the incident.
After receiving information, fire service personnel reached the spot and brought the blaze under control. The Fire Department suspects that a short circuit may have caused the fire, while the exact cause is being investigated.
Meanwhile, a local businessman alleged that the eatery did not have any fire extinguishers or adequate fire safety measures.
