Kalchini, 09th August: World Tribal Day was celebrated at Kalchini Dima Jatra Maidan under the aegis of Kalchini Block Administration and Alipurduar District Administration. A grand procession was taken out from Kalchini Thana Maidan. People of different ages in their cultural attire joined the procession.
Alipurduar District Magistrate, Superintendent of Police, BDO of Kalchini, members of Kalchini Panchayat Samiti, and other renowned people were present at the programme. People from different parts of the district were present. Government officials briefed the tribals about various projects of the state government such as the Jai Johar scheme.
