Alipurduar, 09th August: On the occasion of ‘Vishwa Adivasi Diwas’ (International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples), an event was convened at the Tasti Tea Estate under the initiative of the Tasti Tribal Development Society to commemorate the day.
According to the members of the organization, about a hundred saplings were planted in different areas of the Tea Estate in memory of the tribal martyrs like Birsa Munda, Sidhu and Kanhu Murmu, Kartik Oraon, and other brave martyrs who lost their lives fighting for the country.
