Siliguri, 27th August: Siliguri Police arrested three youths from the Deshbandhupara area late Wednesday night for allegedly planning a robbery. The arrested individuals have been identified as Shambhu Roy (30), Bikash Khati (22) and Ajay Barman (28).
According to police, tools allegedly used for breaking locks were also recovered from the accused.
Sources said some individuals were allegedly planning a robbery in the Deshbandhupara area. Based on information received, Siliguri Police conducted a raid at the location and arrested three youths. However, some other alleged accomplices reportedly fled after seeing the police.
Police registered a case against the three arrested individuals under relevant sections and produced them before the Siliguri court on Thursday.
Police are conducting searches to trace the other accused who allegedly fled from the spot. The investigation is underway.
