Siliguri, 13th May: Short circuit in high tension wire in Bhalobasa More near Panchkolguri under Fulbari No.1 Zone, on Thursday, damaged electronic goods in about 100 houses. Locals protested and demanded compensation for their losses.
Following the incident, the Electricity Department personnel have started the work of normalizing the power service in the areas since this morning. While meters are being changed in all the houses, officials assured that power supply will resume within 24 hours.
It is to be noted, as soon as the event took place yesterday, NJP police and electricity department personnel reached the spot. Later, Rajganj BDO Pankaj Konar also took stock of the area.
