Siliguri, 18th June: Cops of Siliguri Metropolitan Police’s Bhakti Nagar police station conducted a campaign at a house in Bikashnagar of Salugara and arrested a woman for possessing a huge quantity of contraband drugs and psychotropic substances. The accused has been identified as Susma Tamang.
Reportedly, the police received a tip regarding suspicious activities happening in the area. Acting on which, the police officials launched a search campaign in the house, during which a huge quantity of banned cough syrups and capsules were recovered.
The woman was arrested and taken into custody. A specific case under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Bhaktinagar police station. The accused was presented in Jalpaiguri court today.
