Naxalbari, 13th January: A woman identified as Meena Khatun (35), resident of Chathat Phansidewa, was arrested for allegedly cheating a trader with fake currencies.
According to the information, the woman had come to Kharibari’s Batasi market to purchase some chillies with the fake money. When the matter came to light, the locals informed the Kharibari Police who immediately reached the spot and took the woman under their custody.
12 fake notes of Rs 500 and 4 fake notes of Rs 2000 were recovered from Meena Khatun’s possession. She will be presented in court today.
