Siliguri, 18th November: Sensation prevailed after two miscreants snatched the purse of a young woman and fled away at Khalpara’s Jamuna Lal Bajaj Road on Tuesday evening. The incident has caused a stir in the entire area.
Reportedly, the girl was returning home with one of her relatives during which, two miscreants on a scooty snatched her purse and fled away. The bag contained cash, a mobile phone and jewellery worth lakhs. Upon receiving the news, the Khalpara outpost police reached the spot and started an investigation.
Meanwhile, the locals demanded police surveillance in the area during the evening.
