Nationalist Folk Artists’ Development Forum holds inaugural conference in Rajganj

Rajganj, 23rd August: The inaugural conference of the Nationalist Folk Artists’ Development Forum was held at Belakoba Public Club in Rajganj, bringing together a large number of folk artists and members of the organization from different parts of the Rajganj block.

The programme began with Rajganj MLA Dinesh Sarkar hoisting the national flag, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp to mark the inauguration of the conference. Rajganj Panchayat Samiti Sabhapati Monika Adhikari, Saha-Sabhapati Nitai Mondal, Debashish Dey, Tapan Roy and Nakul Das were among those present at the event, along with other organization members and prominent personalities.

During the conference, folk artists from different areas of Rajganj block raised various challenges and demands concerning the artist community. Discussions focused on ensuring government benefits for folk artists, providing them with platforms to showcase their art and culture, and extending greater support for their development.

Speaking at the event, Rajganj MLA Dinesh Sarkar said that this was the first conference organized in the Rajganj block under the initiative of the Nationalist Folk Artists’ Development Forum.

He described the folk artists of North Bengal as the pride of the region and stressed the need to promote their art and folk culture across the country rather than limiting it to North Bengal. He also assured the artists that the government stands with them and will extend necessary support for their development.
