Naxalbari, 26th April: 45-year-old Shanti Oraon sustained injuries after she was attacked by a leopard in Naxalbari. Reportedly, the said woman was working under the 100-day job scheme in Ranidanga Hathbhara Jote area of Naxalbari. Allegedly, the leopard jumped on her when she entered the tea garden.
The woman was rescued and rushed to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. She was discharged after primary treatment. On the other hand, as soon as the news of the incident was received, the personnel of the Bagdogra Forest Department reached the spot. A search has been launched for the wild animal.
