Naxalbari, 13th February: A woman was injured in a leopard attack at Hatighisa in Naxalbari. The injured has been identified as Shanta Lama (40).
It has been learned that Shanta Lama went to the river to wash clothes with other local women. At that moment, the leopard came out of the Malta forest under Bagdogra forest department and attacked her. After hearing her screams, the locals reached the spot and rushed her to Naxalbari Rural Hospital.
Upon receiving the news, the forest workers reached the spot. However, the leopard could not be traced.
