Woman found hanging from a noose in Mathabhanga, family allege murder

Cooch Behar, 01st October: A tragic incident unfolded from Newtown Para of Mathabhanga, Cooch Behar, where a woman, identified as Pinky Saha, was found hanging from a noose. Following the incident, the family members of the deceased alleged murder.


According to reports, on Saturday night, there was a dispute between the woman and her husband. Following this, Pinky’s lifeless body was found hanging from the noose early on Sunday. Upon receiving the news, the family members of Pinky along with Mathabhanga police arrived at the spot, recovered the deceased body and transported to Mathabhanga Mortuary for post-mortem examination.

According to the family members, the couple got married in 2008. Subsequently, Pinky was allegedly pressurized to get money from her maternal home and was allegedly tortured both physically and mentally. The family alleged that Pinky was murdered for not fulfilling the demands.


Meanwhile, the homemaker’s husband claimed that Pinky was mentally challenged. He added that an issue emerged last night. The next morning he spotted her hanging body. Furthermore, he stated that all the allegations made by his in-laws are false.

Currently, police are engaged in detailed investigation of the entire incident.
