Rajganj, 21st August: Several women beneficiaries staged a protest outside the Rajganj BDO office on Friday, alleging that they were not receiving benefits under the Annapurna Yojana.
Women from different areas of Rajganj block gathered outside the BDO office and later blocked the road and the main gate of the office while staging their protest.
The protesters alleged that despite applying multiple times, they were not receiving money under the Annapurna Yojana. They claimed that several allegedly ineligible beneficiaries were receiving the benefit, while eligible applicants were being deprived of it.
The protesters further alleged that they had previously been receiving Lakshmir Bhandar benefits regularly, but were now not receiving money under the Annapurna Yojana. Some also claimed that they had received the benefit once but had not received subsequent payments.
According to the protesters, they had contacted the BDO office several times regarding the issue but had not received a satisfactory response.
The women demanded that all eligible beneficiaries receive the Annapurna Yojana benefit and staged the protest outside the BDO office seeking a resolution to the issue.
