Fulbari, 05th August: A woman died in a tragic road accident after an e-rickshaw she was travelling in overturned following a collision with another vehicle in Fulbari. The deceased has been identified as Anjali Roy, a resident of Putimari Lakshmi Jote village under Fulbari II Gram Panchayat.
According to local sources, Anjali Roy was travelling to Fulbari in an e-rickshaw along with her granddaughter and daughter-in-law on Monday for DBT link of her bank account. It is alleged that after leaving home, the e-rickshaw collided with a vehicle coming from the opposite direction on Fulbari Canal Road.
Due to the impact, Anjali Roy was thrown out of the e-rickshaw and fell on the road. The e-rickshaw overturned and fell on her, leaving her critically injured. Her granddaughter also sustained minor injuries.
Local residents rescued her and rushed her to a private hospital in Fulbari, where doctors declared her brought dead. Her body was handed over to the family after post-mortem at North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) on Tuesday.
The incident has cast a pall of grief among the residents of the area.
