Siliguri, 25th August: A Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader from Siliguri was arrested on Monday night for allegedly making a social media post against West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari.
According to reports, Debashis Dey, a TMC leader from Ward No. 25 of Siliguri, had allegedly made a social media post targeting Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari a few days ago.
Based on the this complaint, Siliguri police arrested Dey on Monday night. He was produced before the court on Tuesday.
While being taken to court, Dey stated that the rule of law prevails in the state and alleged that he had been arrested simply for being a Trinamool Congress member.
