Siliguri, 09th December: Sensation prevailed after a woman committed suicide by hanging herself at her maternal house. The said incident surfaced from the area of Shanti Nagar on Thursday evening. After the incident, the Ashighar Out Post reached the spot and recovered the body, and sent it for postmortem.
The husband of the deceased, identified as Raju Nandi was arrested on the complaints of her relatives. According to the information, a few days back, the woman had come to her maternal home from her in-laws’ house. After this, on Thursday, she committed suicide by hanging herself from the noose.
On the incident, the mother of the deceased Lakshmi Sarkar said that her daughter and Raju Nandi were married for 14 years and have a ten-year-old daughter. The mother alleges that since marriage, Raju used to torture her daughter mentally and physically for money. Due to this, her daughter has committed suicide.
