Malda, 19th November: In a heart-wrenching incident, a woman allegedly poisoned her three children and attempted suicide due to an alleged family dispute. The shocking incident surfaced from the Baikunthapur village of Ratua police station in Malda district. The mother and her three children are currently undergoing treatment at Malda Medical College and Hospital.
Her husband Sumit Mandal, a labourer by profession, was apparently not home when the incident occurred. The villagers found the woman and three children in an unconscious state about two kilometres away from the house and rescued them. They were initially admitted to Ratua Gramin Hospital and later shifted to Malda Medical College and hospital.
Reportedly, the three children are currently admitted to the maternal department of Malda Medical College and Hospital. The condition of the 4-month-old baby is said to be very critical. The mother is undergoing treatment in the female medical department. The police are investigating the whole incident.
