Wild bear rescued from Kumargram of Alipurduar district

Alipurduar, 15th January: A bear was rescued from the Dangi area of ​​Kumargram in Alipurduar district.


According to the information, the bear was initially noticed roaming in the pineapple orchard behind the house of Bulu Orao, a resident of the area, this morning. It was then reported to the Kumargram Range Office.

Upon receiving the news, the forest department personnel reached the spot, successfully caught the bear, and locked it in a net. However, the bear escaped from the net again. It took a while for the forest workers to trap the animal.


According to forest department sources, the bear will be released into the forest after a health check-up.
