Wild bear rescued from Dhumpara Ghat area along Indo-Bhutan border

Alipurduar, 30th December: A bear was rescued on Wednesday night from the Dhumpara Ghat area along the Indo-Bhutan border in Kumargram block of Alipurduar.


According to the information, the locals spotted the bear roaming in the area on Wednesday. The Newlands Beat Office of the Forest Department was immediately informed. Upon receiving the news, the forest workers reached the spot and successfully caught the bear and locked it in the cage.

Meanwhile, the forest department assured that the bear will be released to a safe place. However, an atmosphere of fear engulfed the area ever since the sighting of the wild animal.
