In view of the rising number of COVID-19 cases in Ahmedabad, the Municipality has made it compulsory for people to wear masks from Monday, failing which they would be fined 5 thousand rupees or sentenced to three years in jail.
The order has been issued under the Epidemic Diseases Act as a preventive measure to contain the spread of the deadly virus.
As per the report, Ahmedabad reported 19 coronavirus cases on Sunday, taking the total number of such cases in the city to 266.
