We are fully prepared to deal with Dengue: Siliguri Municipal Corporation Mayor Goutam Deb

Siliguri, 21st May: To curb the outbreak of dengue in Siliguri, the Siliguri Municipal Corporation is working on a war footing basis. Mayor Goutam Deb stated that the number of vector control teams is being increased. Furthermore, to make the general public aware of dengue, pamphlets will be distributed and street plays will be held in the coming days. 
The Mayor, on Saturday, held a meeting with the mayor councils on several issues including the possible dengue outbreak. Later, addressing the media, Deb maintained that more camps and miking will be conducted to spread awareness about the illness and its preventive measures. 
“Every effort is being made to make the city completely dengue free,” the Mayor assured further adding that a total of 30 health centres will be set up in each ward to improve the health system of the city. He said that the SMC has been given the responsibility of maintaining the Siliguri Kangchenjunga Stadium for five years. For which a committee has also been constituted. The financial assistance will be provided by the Sports Department.
