WBCS officer’s wife robbed by snatch-thieves in Siliguri, two arrested

Siliguri, 13th September: Even before the start of Durga Puja in the city, the incidence of robberies and mugging cases have started seeing an increase. In regard to this, an incident of snatch-theft has come to the fore in Siliguri with the wife of a WBCS officer in the Uttar Dinajpur DM office. Reportedly, the incident took place in front of a mall located on Sevoke Road under Bhakti Nagar police station on September 11 with the WBCS officer’s wife Mita Mahto.


According to the locals, as soon as Mitta Mahto reached the said mall for Durga Puja shopping, two youths came in a scooty and snatched her purse and mobile, and fled. However, on the basis of the complaint lodged, Bhakti Nagar police station arrested the two snatch thieves last night. The accused have been identified as Bikram Roy and Rajiv Adhikari. Both the accused have been produced in Jalpaiguri court today.
