Vyavasayee Samiti holds meeting with police over frequent snatching cases in Bidhan Market

Siliguri, 27th August: In view of the increasing snatching incidents in Bidhan Market, traders are worried about their security.


Members of Bidhan Market Vyavasayee Samiti held a meeting with police, on Friday. The traders alleged that snatching cases are taking place frequently in Bidhan Market for the past several days. Earlier, the Vyavasayee Samiti appointed security guards to prevent such incidents.

However, this time, questions have started to arise about security inside the market. Miscreants are fleeing after snatching bags, money, and mobiles inside the crowded market. Due to lack of evidence, no action is being taken against them. The traders held a discussion in this regard with the police on Friday.


Bapi Saha, secretary of Vyavasayee Samiti, said that CCTV cameras are required in various alleys inside the market. SJDA assured to install CCTV cameras. “We will talk to the new chairman about the issue,” he said.
