Vehicles seized by Pradhan Nagar Police allegedly set on fire, three arrested

Siliguri, 05th September: Several confiscated vehicles that were kept near the Pradhan Nagar police station were gutted in a major fire that broke out on Friday night. According to new developments, the vehicles did not just catch fire but were allegedly set on fire. Three persons, identified as Rupesh Agarwal, Rahul Kumar and Uday Pandey have been arrested in connection to the incident.

According to the information, the police were quite suspicious of the sudden fire which broke out unexpectedly. Allegedly, the plot where the police had kept the seized vehicles belongs to Rupesh Agarwal, who had been meaning to vacate the land. Police stated that Rupesh Agarwal along with Rahul Kumar and Uday Pandey set the vehicles on fire by sprinkling petrol merely to free up space.

Although Rupesh pretended not to know about the matter, however, the CCTV footage installed in the area revealed all his motives and captured every movement of the accused. While an investigation has been initiated by the police, all three accused will be produced in the Siliguri court today.
