Vaccination centre in Mirik closed from today following shortage of COVID-19 shots

Mirik, 28th April: Amid the rising COVID-19 cases in the second wave, several vaccination centres across the country are being forced to shut down due to the shortage of vaccine doses. A similar picture was witnessed in Mirik under Darjeeling District today.


Due to the shortage of COVID-19 shots in Mirik, the vaccinated health centre has been temporarily closed from today onwards. A notice bearing the message: “No Vaccination Session due to shortage of vaccine” was pasted in front of the centre.

According to the report received from Mirik Sub-Divisional Health Center, the vaccination drive will commence again after the supply of vaccines becomes available.


Mirik has reported numerous COVID-19 positive cases in the past few days. On Tuesday, Mirik recorded 05 new positive cases in the last 24 hours. Amid the alarming situation, the closure of the vaccination centre has added more to the concern.
