Union Minister Kiren Rijiju participated in a public meeting in support of Raju Bista in Kurseong

Kurseong, 23rd April: On Tuesday, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju arrived in Kurseong to campaign in support of Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) candidate Raju Bista from Darjeeling Lok Sabha constituency. It is to be noted that the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections is scheduled for April 26. In view of this, the BJP party has emphasized on the end days of election campaign.


During his public address, Kiren Rijiju stated that five years ago Raju Bista was elected to the Lower House as an MP. He has constantly raised his voice concerning development of his parliamentary constituency and also the issues of the Gorkhas in the House. He added that, even this time Bista would be supported by the people and he would win with a huge vote margin. Further, he stated that after the positive outcome, the issues concerning the Gorkhas would be resolved.

Meanwhile, Raju Bista slammed Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Anit Thapa during his public address. Bista stated that the CM’s dark blood does not match with the red blood of Gorkhas. He added that the TMC party can never think for the interest of Gorkhas, however, the BJP can definitely fulfill the aspirations.


Additionally, Bista also targeted GTA Chief Anit Thapa while claiming that the CBI will investigate the teacher appointment case. He stated that he would appeal to the High Court, while further stating that action should be first initiated on those who took money for jobs. Bista ended stating that he is from Manipur by birth, but his works are associated with Darjeeling.
