Siliguri, 29th July: In a tragic incodent, an unidentified youth died after allegedly falling from a vacant multi-storey building in the Dagapur Bandari Jote area under Pradhan Nagar Police Station in Siliguri on Wednesday.
According to sources, the youth arrived at the area with a bicycle and entered the long-vacant building. He reportedly went upstairs through the staircase. Eyewitnesses said that the youth was heard shouting towards someone near the nearby water park from the height of the building.
A few minutes later, he was found lying on the ground after falling from the building. Local youths present in the area attempted to take him to the hospital, but he was declared dead.
After receiving information, Pradhan Nagar Police reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for post-mortem examination.
Police said no identity document was found from the deceased, due to which his identity has not yet been established. An investigation has been initiated and efforts are underway to identify the youth.
