Naxalbari, 30th October: Sensation prevailed in the area after the body of an unidentified woman was recovered, on Monday, from the area adjacent to Totaram Jote of Naxalbari.
According to reports, the locals alerted the police after spotting the lifeless body in the area. Upon receiving the news, the officials of the Naxalbari police station promptly arrived at the spot and recovered the body. Preliminary investigation by the police indicates that the woman may have passed away from old age and illness.
Meanwhile, the body was recovered and sent to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for a post-mortem examination. The entire incident is under further police investigation.
