Kharibari, 12th May: The Ghoshpukur outpost police arrested two men while they were allegedly smuggling cattle in a cargo vehicle. The arrested have been identified as Binay Oraon (24) and Mohammad Jehangir Alam (34). Both are said to be residents of Naxalbari.
According to the police, a team from the Ghoshpukur outpost conducted an operation near Chenga River on the way to Kharibari, on Wednesday. During the campaign, the police apprehended a vehicle based on suspicion. While searching the vehicle, 6 cattle were found hidden inside. The accused were produced in the Siliguri Subdivisional Court today. Police have launched an investigation into the whole matter.
