Two arrested within 24 hours of theft complaint in Siliguri

Siliguri, 11th January: The cops of Bhakti Nagar police station arrested two miscreants involved in a theft case within 24 hours of the complaint. The arrested accused have been identified as Prithivi Sonar and Bappi Barman.


Reportedly, on January 5, a theft incident occurred in the Bhabasindhu Colony area under the Bhakti Nagar police station. Later, on Wednesday morning, a written complaint was filed at Bhakti Nagar police station.

Based on the complaint, the police initiated an investigation and arrested Prithvi Sonar within 24 hours. After subsequent interrogations, the police arrested Bappi Barman, who bought the stolen items, later at night from Naxalbari. In addition, the stolen goods were also recovered from his possession.


On Thursday, both accused were produced before the Jalpaiguri court. Currently, the police are engaged in further investigation.

    I highly suspect this miscreant to be a part of the theft of my motorcycle classic desert storm (yellow colour ) 500 cc, on the night of 3rd January, 2024 from Siliguri junction bus stand area registration number WB74AH3322, it has been 7 days and yet the thieves are out here at large.
