Kharibari, 10th December: In a recent development, two miscreants were arrested with a substantial amount of brown sugar in Kharibari. The miscreants have been identified as Bishnu Barman (22) and Debabrata Barman (18), residents of Uttar Ramdhan Jote in Panitanki.
According to reports, the SOG and officials of the Panitanki Outpost under the Kharibari police station conducted a joint operation based on a tip-off in the Dudhgate area located adjacent to Panitanki. During the operation, the officials held a scooty based on suspicion and recovered 263 grams of brown sugar from the vehicle. Following this, both suspects were arrested and taken to the Kharibari police station in connection to the case.
Police sources revealed that the estimated market value of the brown sugar recovered is lakhs of rupees. On Sunday, the arrested accused have been produced before the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court while the police are investigating the entire incident.
