Two arrested with 254 grams of brown sugar in Kharibari’s Panitanki

Kharibari, 17th November: In a significant collaboration, the team of Special Operations Group (SOG) and the cops of Panitanki Outpost under the Kharibari Police Station have recovered a substantial quantity of brown sugar in a drug raid at the Panitanki New Market near the Nepal border and seized a two-wheeler in the act. The incident led to the arrest of accused Mohammad Rahim (25) and Mohammad Atarul (23), residents of Buraganj in Kilaghata.


According to reports, the team of officials conducted a raid at the aforementioned area and apprehended the duo based on suspicion. During the subsequent search, the officials recovered 254 grams of brown sugar from the suspects. Subsequently, the two individuals were arrested on charges of involvement in brown sugar smuggling.

Following this, the arrested smugglers were handed over to the Kharibari Police Station and produced before the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court on Friday. The entire incident is currently under further police investigation.
