Two arrested for KLO link granted bail by Siliguri court after 97 days

Siliguri, 04th June:  On 25th February, the Special Task Force (STF) arrested Avinash Roy and  Mrinal Burman from the Naya Bazar area of ​​Siliguri on suspicion of collecting funds for the Kamatapur Liberation Organization (KLO). Both were kept in remand for about 14 days for interrogation and were sent to judicial custody for three months.
On Friday, the duo was produced again in the Siliguri Additional First Court. Reportedly, after the STF failed to submit sufficient evidence and a charge sheet to the court, both were granted bail by the court on a bail bond of Rs 2,000. 
Regarding the incident, defence lawyer Alok Das stated that they had been asked by the court to provide full cooperation in the investigation of STF from day one. However, after an investigation of 97 days, the STF could not present any strong evidence in the court against the accused. Das further stated that the STF had made several allegations against his client at the time of arrest but no evidence was presented in the court. Therefore, the court has granted bail to his client after 97 days.
