Two arrested along with 5 kgs of gold

Siliguri, 29th August: Based on a tip-off, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) launched operations at the Fulbari-Ghoshpukur area and arrested two men along with 5 kgs of gold. The arrested accused have been identified as Islamuddin and Rafiq Khan, residents of Manipur. A truck has also been detained in the incident.


According to DRI sources, the truck bearing an Assam number plate was on its way to Bihar. Upon searching the vehicle, 30 gold biscuits weighing 4 kg 980 grams were recovered from their possession. The market value of the recovered gold is estimated to be around 2 crores 62 lakh 40 thousand rupees.


The arrested accused individuals were produced before the Siliguri court today.
