Truck loses control and rams into a shop in Siliguri’s Eastern Bypass, no casualties reported

Siliguri, 15th December: Another accident in Siliguri’s Eastern Bypass created a stir in the area. It has been learned that a truck lost control and rammed into a shop in the Devanagari area adjacent to Eastern Bypass. Several motorcycles, scooters, bicycles, and vans were crushed under the truck wheels. However, no casualties were reported in the incident.


The locals stated that some people were standing in front of the shop when the truck lost control and rammed into the shop. Upon receiving the news, the Ashighar outpost police of Siliguri Metropolitan Police reached the spot. The vehicles were then recovered with the help of the locals. The police detained the truck and have started an investigation into the whole incident.

In this regard, Sanojit Modak said, “I came to the shop to buy goods. My scooter as well as the purchased goods have been damaged.”


On the other hand, local gram panchayat Mithu Sarkar said, “Such accidents are happening frequently. We will ask the administration to take measures to reduce the speed of vehicles.”
