Phansidewa, 19th September: A distressing incident unfolded in Ghoshpukur of Phansidewa, where a 3-year-old minor was allegedly sexually assaulted by a truck driver. The accused has been identified as Subal Mandal, a resident of Bardhaman.
According to reports, on Monday night, the minor was found in a blood-soaked condition by her mother. Subsequently, the matter was informed to the police. Upon receiving the information, Phansidewa police, accompanied by Ghoshpukur Outpost police, arrived at the spot, rescued the victim, and transported to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for medical treatment. Following this, the accused was taken into custody.
In this context, the locals alleged that the minor was subjected to brutality and demanded stringent punishment for the culprit.
