Siliguri, 27th December: Sensation prevailed after a group of miscreants set fire to the house of Trinamool leader Santu Roy in No. 02 Panchanan Colony area under Ward No. 01 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation, on Sunday night. Locals spotted the fire shortly after the incident. They then extinguished the fire and rescued the family members.
However, it is not yet known who was involved in the incident. After the incident, Santu Roy lodged a written complaint at Pradhan Nagar Police Station this morning. Meanwhile, IC and ACP of Pradhan Nagar Police Station Manish Yadav reached the spot. An investigation has been launched into the incident.
In this regard, Trinamool leader Santu Roy said that he heard some noise at night. Following this, he learned that their house was on fire. He demanded that the accused individuals be found soon and provided them with appropriate punishment.
