Siliguri, 22nd January: The members of Darjeeling District Trinamool Congress (TMC) organized a ‘Sanghati Yatra’ in Siliguri on Monday. Religious leaders from several religions participated in the procession.
According to reports, the rally witnessed the participation of Siliguri Municipal Corporation Mayor Gautam Deb, Darjeeling District TMC President Papiya Ghosh, and other local leaders. The rally commenced from Baghajatin Park, circumambulated Hashmi Chowk (Venus More), Sevoke Road, Panitanki More, and concluded at Ramakrishna Maidan, where a conference was also held.
It should be noted that a few days earlier, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee directed all the TMC leaders to carry out the Sanghati Yatra in various districts. The rally was organized to promote the message of bringing people of different religions together.
