Tribute paid to martyr Bidhan Ghising in Darjeeling

Darjeeling, 23rd September: The last rites of Subedar Bidhan Ghising, who made supreme sacrifice while serving in Jammu and Kashmir, were conducted today in a ceremony at his native place at Pussimbing near Darjeeling with full military honors.


Subedar Ghising of the Jammu and Kashmir Rifles (JAK), was a resident of Pussimbing tea garden under the Sukhia Pokhari Block in Darjeeling, and he was martyred in a clash with terrorists in Srinagar.

The mortal remains of Ghising were brought from Srinagar to Bagdogra on 22 September 2021 and were further taken to his native village on the same day. A casket containing the mortal remains of the soldier was wrapped in tricolor and taken to the cremation ground.


The Commander of Darjeeling Military station along with several senior army officers, District Magistrate & Superintendent of Police at Darjeeling, public representatives attended the last rites and paid their tribute to the braveheart and his family.
