Siliguri, 09th August: Siliguri’s Biplabi Sangha has begun preparations for it’s fourth year of Ganesh Puja with the traditional ‘Khutti Puja’. The organisers are set to present an innovative theme this year.
Last year, the club drew attention with a unique idol of Lord Ganesh depicted as a child. Continuing its tradition of presenting distinctive themes, Biplabi Sangha will feature ‘Tapasvi rupe Ganapati’ this year.
The main attraction will be an 11-foot-tall idol depicting Lord Ganesh in a meditative posture while holding Mahakal, symbolising the cosmic force of time. The pandal will be designed around the theme of Ganesh’s penance dedicated to Mahakal, which the organisers expect to attract a large number of visitors.
The Puja will be held at Shibrampally in B.B.D. Sarani. The festivities will begin on September 14, with the main Puja rituals scheduled for September 15.
The idol will remain at the pandal for five days, during which Prasad will be distributed and various cultural programmes will be organised daily.
Following the enthusiastic response from visitors to last year’s celebrations, the club authorities are hopeful of witnessing an even larger turnout this year.
