Alipurduar, 16th May: In a tragic incident, a pickup van driver lost his life in a road accident in the Nimti area of Alipurduar district. The deceased, identified as Moh Alam, was a resident of Kolkata.
As per reports, the accident occurred when the pickup van traveling from Assam to Kolkata collided with the rear of a truck parked on the roadside in Nimti. As a result, the driver, Moh Alam, suffered severe injuries. Meanwhile, the officers from the Nimti outpost promptly rescued Moh Alam and rushed him to Latabari Hospital. Despite their efforts, Moh Alam succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
The body of the deceased has been transferred to the Alipurduar District Hospital for an autopsy. At present the police have initiated an investigation into the entire incident.
