Siliguri, 15th June: The rigidity of traffic department of Siliguri Metropolitan Police against traffic rules violators is vivid as per the recent report released by the West Bengal Police. For the month of April and May, the Siliguri Traffic Police ranked number one in the race to cut e-challans. However, the police are now opting to spread awareness among the motorists rather than issuing the challan.
A similar picture was witnessed at Champasari Traffic Point under Junction Traffic Guard, on Wednesday. The city has been experiencing heavy rainfall since this morning. The traffic police stationed at the said point has been busy smoothening the movement of vehicles to avoid any road accidents.
Apart from this, the traffic personnel were also spotted spreading awareness concerning traffic rules to the commuters and helping the pedestrians cross the road. The citizens commended this initiative of the Siliguri Metropolitan Police.
