Siliguri, 29th July: Traffic congestion has increased at Air View More after the opening of the new flyover on Burdwan Road, creating a new challenge for commuters in Siliguri.
Following repeated complaints, Siliguri Police Commissioner Syed Waquar Raza visited the spot on Wednesday and conducted a detailed inspection of the traffic situation. DCP (Traffic) Quazi Samsuddin Ahamed, ACP (Traffic) Subir Dutta and other senior traffic officials were present during the inspection.
During the inspection, officials reviewed vehicle movement on the flyover and surrounding areas. They found that traffic flow on the flyover was normal, but congestion was developing at Air View More and connected roads due to increased vehicle pressure after the exit point.
Officials also inspected the flyover entry and exit routes, traffic signals, U-turn points and major intersections to identify areas requiring additional traffic management measures.
Siliguri Police Commissioner Syed Waquar Raza directed officials to increase monitoring at Air View More and other important locations connected to the flyover. He instructed that necessary traffic management strategies should be implemented to ensure smooth and safe movement of vehicles.
