Siliguri, 20th October: A portion of Balason Bridge in Matigara has been affected by heavy rains. Considering the safety of the citizens, the movement of traffic over the bridge has been temporarily suspended since Wednesday morning.
All three-wheelers and heavy vehicles have been requested to take a right turn from the Shiv Mandir underpass and take the alternative Noukaghat Road. Due to this, huge traffic congestion is being witnessed in Siliguri’s Burdwan Road since morning.
Reportedly, such a scenario will continue until the bridge in Matigara is repaired. On the other hand, traffic police have been deployed at several places on Burdwan Road.
