‘Khutti Puja’ marks beginning of Durga Puja preparations by Mahila Samannay Samiti in Belakoba, Rajganj

Rajganj, 24th August: The Mahila Samannay Samiti located at the Hospital road area in Belakoba, has officially began preparations for its annual Durga Puja with the traditional ‘Khutti Puja’ ceremony. This year marks the tenth anniversary of the women-led Durga Puja celebration.

According to the committee, the budget for this year’s Durga Puja is around ₹6 lakh. The pandal will feature special attractions, while a variety of cultural programmes have also been planned for the five days of the festival.

Apart from organising Durga Puja, the women-led committee also undertakes several social initiatives every year, including blanket distribution and tree plantation drives. The committee members said these activities will continue this year as well.

Committee member Shukla Dutta and other women associated with the group said that with the Puja entering its tenth year, preparations have officially begun with the ‘Khutti Puja’. They said the five-day festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm, offering the women an opportunity to set aside their daily household responsibilities and immerse themselves in the worship of Goddess Durga.

The members added that they eagerly look forward to these five days of celebration throughout the year.
